Mandalay Bay debuts boutique side with South Beach vibe
Fans of THEhotel must say goodbye as it makes way for Delano Las Vegas. Where THEhotel was the boutique side of the Mandalay Bay, Delano carries on the title, but with a South Beach vibe, and is now accepting reservations for stays starting September 1.

Nearly everything about the all-suite hotel will be reinvented, from the divided boulder straight from the Nevada desert near the entrance and lobby hallway that takes its aesthetic from the surrounding landscape, to a new urban kitchen and eclectic cocktail lounge called Franklin.
Delano will also have its own private pool, Delano Beach Club, close to Mandalay Beach for guests to soak in the sun South Beach style, while the BathHouse Spa will add signature treatments, such as the Double the Pleasure massage, performed by two massage therapists. Take a global journey through other new treatments inspired by traditional rituals from India, Asia and Europe.
Even Mix, the restaurant by acclaimed chef Alain Ducasse on the 64th floor of the hotel, will undergo a transformation by the end of the year. Welcome Rivea, which has outposts in London and Saint Tropez offering a French and Italian-flavored mix of cuisine inspired by Ducasse's experiences with the food markets in Italy and Provence. The lounge will see a little facelift, but there's no changing that breathtaking view from its perch high above the city.
Where THEhotel was bold and striking with lots of black lacquer and glossy finishes, Delano seems to be lighter and airier, like a breath of fresh air has been swept through the property. It's about time a little South Beach made it to the desert.
